Virpur is a small town located in the district of Rajkot in Gujarat, India. It is about 52 kilometers away from Rajkot and about 280 kilometers away from Ahmedabad. The place is well-known as the birthplace of Jalaram Bapa, born on November 4, 1799. For this reason, it attracts a lot of visitors each year. Kindness and generosity are the main features of Virpur.

The principle of this community can be defined as “Sadavrat” – offering free food to everybody who comes to the place. It exists nowadays as an attraction for visitors, not only because of religious purposes, but also because of this social practice. The town is modest and really peaceful. There are no financial or trading purposes of pilgrimage.

The Jalaram Bapa Temple is the most important place in Virpur. It is not very large or decorated. It is the same house where Jalaram Bapa lived with his wife, Virbaima. This makes visitors feel close to his life and values.

Inside the temple, some original items of Jalaram Bapa are kept. These include his wooden stick, called a danda, and his cloth bag, called a jholi. People believe these were given to him by a divine visitor. There is also a portrait of Jalaram Bapa, which is the main focus during darshan.

A very important part of the temple is the kitchen. It works every day. Food is prepared and served to all visitors without any charge. This follows the same tradition started long ago. The temple is simple in design, which shows the simple life of Jalaram Bapa.

Darshan timings are usually from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM and again from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Timings may change during festivals or special days.
