Religious Sites In Bhavnagar

- Palitana, also known as Shatrunjaya Hills, is about 51 km from Bhavnagar. It is very important for the Jain community. There are more than 863 marble temples on one hill. To reach the top, visitors need to climb around 3,500 steps, so it takes time and energy. The main temple is of Lord Rishabhanatha, also called Adishwar. Many visitors start early in the morning to avoid the heat and enjoy a quiet visit.
- Takhteshwar Temple is inside Bhavnagar city. It was built in 1893 by Maharaja Takhatsinhji. The temple is made of white marble and is on a small hill. From here, people can see the Gulf of Khambhat clearly. It is easy to reach and a good place to sit peacefully.
- Shree Khodiyar Mandir is about 15 km from Bhavnagar. It is near a lake and is dedicated to Goddess Khodiyar. Many people visit on Sundays and during the Navratri festival. At that time, the temple area becomes busy and lively.
- Nishkalank Mahadev Temple is about 22 km away in Koliyak. This temple is located in the sea and is different from other temples. It has five Shiva Lingas. These can only be seen during low tide. People walk through shallow water to reach the temple & offer prayers.
